If your situation occurs after hours and you are a current patient experiencing severe pain, swelling, or trauma, please call our office and follow the instructions on our voicemail.
A knocked-out permanent tooth requires immediate action to save it:
Pick up the tooth by the crown — do NOT touch the root.
Gently rinse it with water if dirty—do not scrub or remove tissues.
Try to place it back into the socket if possible.
If you can’t reinsert it, keep the tooth moist by placing it:
In milk
In your own saliva
Or in a clean container with water
Time is critical—visit our office or your nearest emergency dentist immediately. The sooner you receive care, the higher the chance of saving the tooth.
For baby teeth, do not place the tooth back in the socket. Contact your child’s dentist for guidance.

Cover sharp tooth edges with cotton or dental wax
